The government are very quick to raise the fees of education and take away the EMA, but for some reason they think that young children in low-income households need internet access to do work. OMG that's amazing. Free wifi from lamposts?? Awesome. I think it's awful that some people can't access the internet - you get excluded from all sorts of informaion and services if you can't get online. With libraries closing, the division will get even worse.

I am with Ste on this one. The internet is a wonderful resource but there are "better" things that the money could be spent on.

But I suppose every policy or investment has an opportunity cost, for example the married couple tax break of about £3 a week will cost £550mn (equal to EMA budget), which could be spent on say, volunteering or the NHS. I do think connecting people to the internet, who otherwise would struggle to, is rather important for many reasons.
Will the new '.xxx' domain either make porn more accessible on the internet or put people off? Your thoughts.

It could work if everyone is aware of the new rating but most likely not!
